Madsen Giersing undertook the detailed design of the travelling form for the roof for the Sun Metals building in Townsville. The total length of the building is 145m and the span between columns is 14.5m. The roof was a cast in situ concrete slab beam structure. The voids between the beams were generated with large polystyrene blocks supported off the travelling form.
