Pile Gate Tower for R.G. Tanner Wharf

Client : John Holland Group
Location : Gladstone, Australia
Year : 2006

Madsen Giersing undertook the design of  the temporary works on the RG Tanna Coal Wharf Expansion Project in Gladstone for John Holland Group.

The works comprised of the design of a pile gate tower with connections to the SEP Fuji; falsework beams for the pile gate tower spanning from the SEP to existing headstocks; falsework beams for an 80T crawler crane; spreader beams and operating restrictions for a 100T mobile crane.

The pile gate tower is designed to accommodate driving of piles at a vertical position and at four nominated rakes around either side of the pivot pin.

The pile gate tower is equipped with ladders as well as internal and external platforms to provide access to the entire structure including the pile gates.
