Geylang River Diversion Cofferdam

Madsen Giersing designed the cofferdam for the Geylang River Diversion for the Kallang & Paya Lebar Expressway Tunnel.
The design consists of a parallel wall cofferdam in very soft marine sediment with a wall depth of up to 40m.
The cofferdam is a two stage construction with the first stage having a length of 140m and the second stage having a length of 290m.
The design included the development of construction techniques and design of temporary works for the driving of the sheet piles.
