Madsen Giersing prepared the detailed erection procedure for the roof structure of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. This roof structure consists of a 100m long spine truss with a total mass of 100 tonnes.

Part of the erection procedure was to establish the deflected shape of the roof during the various stages of the erection. This required an extensive and detailed finite element analysis of the roof structure.
