|
Client : Port Of Brisbane Corporation Location : Brisbane, Australia Year : 2005
In late 2005 Madsen Giersing completed a detailed design of two 10 x 3 m steel pontoons for The Port of Brisbane Corporation. The pontoons, having been successfully installed in mid 2006, are now in use at the Whyte Island Tug Base for the berthing of line boats.
The project included the design of: steel pontoons with tubular buoyancy compartments, steel piling, gangways, required dredging, revetment wall and abutment. The gangways were constructed using aluminum to obtain a light structure. The installations supplied to the pontoon include power, lighting and a land based fuel pump.
Madsen Giersing also participated in inspections during and after installation of the structures.
